Drake & Nikki ManajDrake’s rep has denied that the rapper and his label mate Nicki Minaj got married.

Late Friday (August 27), fans were met with the news that rappers Drake and Nicki Minaj had decided to jump the broom. The rumor wasn’t started by a website or blog; it was actually hinted by Nicki and Drake.

Most of their fans took the news to be authentic.

“U scurred? @drakkardnoir u ready to make the announcement or wha?” Nicki Minaj tweeted to Drake’s Twitter account. Drake responded with a “Baby I am never scared. PROUD is more the word I would use. Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She’s finally mine.” Nicki then tweeted “Yes, its true. Drake and I tied the knot.”

Within minutes, major media outlets were regurgitating the tweets and soon the suggested news of Drake and Nicki Minaj being officially married was trending not only on Twitter, but also Google trends.

Many were quick to believe that Drake and Nicki had become an official item thanks to Drake suggesting that he would like to marry Nicki in his song “Miss Me” -- which features mentor Lil Wayne.

Though most observers chocked their tweets up as a “publicity stunt” many believed that Drake and Nicki had indeed jumped the broom.

According to reports, Drake’s rep has denied that the two have gotten married – which won’t be news to most people who knew immediately after hearing the rumor that it was just a gag.
